Video- Story in 60 seconds

This video is about my sister and brother in law who went out one night and as they left the lounge they were both assaulted by a man who claimed to be a cop. They basically explain how the nights events went about. I initially had about 20 mins worth of video, and was able to get it down to 1min and 46secs. This video was the most difficult to get down to 60 secs becasue there was alot they had to say and I had to make sure that nothing major was left out.

I was able to film it in University lecture halll, which had a lot better lighting than my apartment . The audio is definitely better just because i am closer to them but could still be better. I had already recorded my video before last class, so hopefully I can actually use the equipment form class. Otherwise I was glad that i could finally follow through with my initial pitch.

Love in a Hopeless Place

Liked:  I liked the quality of the video that I shot.  I used an SLR for the first time and it gave me much better video than a simple iPad or iPhone.  I also liked how the topic was somewhat emotional.  Emotions tend to draw an audience in much more efficiently.

Disliked:  For some reason there was a lot of dead air in the background which I tried to reduce but it is still present.  Also I am considerably inexperienced with SLR’s so I had a decent amount of trouble filming, but I figured it out eventually.  Also, the sudden change of plans was a slight issue.  And I had trouble finding a good location to film. (Proper lighting)

Do next time:  Come up with a good solid plan.  Stick to the plan.  Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help.  I’ve done most of the videos on my own, trying to make the films on my own.
